Simple. Beer. "Bread" Budget.

The other night, I opened my fridge to see what's needed to be used before it loses its "fridge" life. I found a recently opened Guinness bottle of beer; capped with a wine stopper. Simple thought, beer bread. The basics in my kitchen pantry, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, egg, and butter.

Work with what I have. Excited! Cost? Nothing, no reason to step out to the grocery store on a cold spring morning in San Francisco. See simple recipe and images below.

A tasty treat for frugal living!

Simply add butter





Mix flour, baking powder, and salt with sugar. Add beer and egg both at once and stir. Place in greased 9-inch by 5-inch loaf pan and bake at 375 degrees until done - 45 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.


Enjoy with soft butter or your favorite jam!
