Dumpling Ramen Noodle Soup Fix

  If there's one meal or dish I can always rely on to have at anytime without costing an arm and a leg is Ramen noodles . You simply can make a cost effective noodle soup. I always remembered those times where I had no money or didn't have time to make a structured dish, a Ramen noodle recipe was the trick. I say, I have a bowl at least a minimum twice a week.  Below is one of my favorite recipe which I can be creative with the ingredients. But once you complete this dish, you'll feel satisfied, full, and calm. Simple Apple Pie Recipe for a Winter Dessert

  Granny Smith Apple Pie   INGREDIENTS  3 Granny Smith apples (1 pound)  9 inch pie shell or 2 pie crust sheets   1 teaspoon ground cinnamon   1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg   1/4 teaspoon ground cloves   1/8 teaspoon kosher salt   1/4 teaspoon lemon zest   2 teaspoons lemon juice  2 tablespoons cornstarch 1/4 cup water 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract   1/4 cup brown Sugar   1/4 cup white granulated sugar 1/4 cup unsalted butter   Preheat oven to 350 degrees  Thaw pie and pie crust for about 15-20 minutes  DIRECTIONS  Wash and carve apple skin out Cut into 6 slices per apple  Heat non stick pan with butter until slight smoke Add and stir in apples Add and stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and sugars, mix well  Mix cornstarch and water, add into pan to thicken the filling  Heat for a few minutes until fully mixed  Add vanilla extract as final ingredient  Add mix into pie pan...

Mom’s Filipino Pork Guisantes

  Prep Time: 15 minutes  Ready in 1 hour Serves 4 people Ingredients Pork Butt - 1 lb.  Green Peas - 2 cups  Garlic  - 7 cloves sliced Onion - 1 - diced  Bay Leaves - 2 leaves  Tomato Paste or Sauce - 1 cup  Soy Sauce - 1 cup  Pimientos or Chili Powder - 1 tablespoon  Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil  Water - 1 ½ Cup Preparation Pork Butt Cut into ½ cubes , season with salt and pepper.  Large skillet,  on medium high temperature, heat 5 tablespoons of oil, brown meat until tender. Drain fat  Vegetables Add garlic, onions, bay leaves, tomato paste, and water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat Temperature Heat at low temperature for 1 hour   Remaining Ingredients In the last 15 minutes, add and stir remaining ingredients, green peas and soy sauce for color Serve Hot With white steamed rice TIP: Remove bay leaves before serving

Make it yourself This  recipe for andagi  comes from " Okinawan Mixed Plate ," published by  Hui O Laulima , the women's auxiliary of the  United Okinawan Association of Hawaii . Note that it calls for an oil temperature of  350 degrees , standard for deep-frying. Our andagi expert,  Betsy Miyahira , however, suggests a lower temperature --  330 degrees . Simple and Easy Autumn Corn Chowder

I went to  Whole Foods Market  and was shocked to find out a pint of ready made  Corn Chowder  was going for $9.99. I said to myself, I feel like having Chowder, but let me whip up a recipe my way and for way less.  Costs:  Cubed Pancetta Bacon  $3.49 1- 3 lbs  Russet Potatoes  - using 2 potatoes $2.49 - actual cost $.83 1 large onion $.59 1 can  yellow corn  $.89 TOTAL COST: $5.80  In house ingredients  buttermilk   wheat flour   1 can  chicken broth   3 tablespoon butter 1 onion, chopped  2 celery stalks , with leaves, chopped  4 cups fresh corn (6 ears-but frozen is okay in a pinch) -2 cups pureed til smooth  and 2 cups left whole  3 cups  chicken stock   2 potatoes cubed  1 cup  heavy cream  (or substitute buttermilk) Melt butter and saute onion and celery. Sardines with Bean Thread Noodles

One of the most inexpensive and easy recipe to whip up for lunch. All ingredients for under $10.00. Serves for 2.  Ingredients: 2 - 5.5 oz. cans  sardines in tomato sauce  (I used one regular and one spicy  Ligo sardines ) 8 oz.  bean thread vermicelli noodles , soaked for at least 15 minutes and drained 3-4 cloves garlic , chopped 1 small size onion, sliced 1 small size tomato Chopped  green onion  (optional) salt and pepper to taste  2 Tbsp olive oil 1 cup water (or I just use two cans of water from the sardine cans) If you feel you need more liquid you can add accordingly. In a large sauce pan over medium heat, saute garlic in olive oil until light brown.  Add onions and tomatoes and saute until tomato is soft. The other night, I opened my fridge to see what's needed to be used before it loses its "fridge" life. I found a recently opened  Guinness bottle of beer ; capped with a wine stopper. Simple thought,  beer bread . The basics in my kitchen pantry, flour , baking powder , salt, sugar, egg, and butter.
